INTRO:

This is the first book I read by the author.
Unfortunately, I didn’t like it 🙁 And I’m going to say I’m sorry about the review. I hate, hate, hate writing something negative, but I did read the book in exchange for an honest review and so I would like to explain why I rated it so low amongst other 4-5 star ratings.
First I want to say that, while it’s not mandatory, it seems there is a series prior to this one that contains a lot of information. I had a lot of question marks reading the first half of the book so if you haven’t, check out The Guardians series (the first book is: Blood of Eden).

Character development:

I love a good RH, but I love a good story more. Here we had 79% of the book only about their attraction and how she would love to do all kinds of things but doesn’t. It was a severe case of, does he like me or not, but what about him, and him… till 79% into the book. Then we got some action and that, ladies and gentlemen, was the end of the book.

To say Lexi had a terrible childhood is an understatement (though we don’t know the full extent of what happened, as I’ve said, check out the other series for that). But the way she went from a timid, virgin, clueless girl plagued by nightmares to a full out seductress was totally unbelievable, I’m very sorry. Her character didn’t make sense and didn’t feel real at all.
The men in this book, Lucian, Dimitri and Chase, felt a lot better. Even if we don’t know a lot about them. We know that they are best friends and we have some info about their past (yes, there was one conversation about that).

The book itself:

I wish I could say at least the steamy scenes were good, but I’m sorry, they had me rolling my eyes and face-palming just before I skimmed whole sections.

And you know, I would have been okay with all that, if we had a good story to go with it. But just half-decent smut and a story of one or two chapters do not make a good book! 🙁

I hope that the book underwent more editing after it was sent out, not only for the flow of the story but because there were still a lot of errors.

Final Thoughts:

All in all, the plot sounded good, but the book did not deliver 🙁
