Being haunted by her maniacal, poltergeist mother is the least of Sin’s problems.
The former High King of the Fae, who’s just been released from Hell, is a much bigger one. Oberon has decided that she is his ticket home. Her, a death fae with no connections or money – none that she wants to acknowledge, at any rate. But Oberon is willing to play dirty, and he’s absconded with her cousin, Nog, a corgi shadow shifter with more heart than brains. Now Sin has to work out how to escape the clutches of a slightly-disturbed too handsome former fae overlord, or risk losing her freedom. Forever. Because Oberon’s plans don’t involve her returning to Crossroads. No, they have her journeying to the fae world, and facing her worst nightmare. Her mate.
This book just blew the doors open on unexpected reunions! Imagine stumbling back into some of your favorite characters, only to discover hidden connections, unresolved tension, and a whole new adventure brewing. Get ready to dive back into this world – it’s about to get intense!
The story takes us on a trip across several locations: The Crossroads, Ireland, and, of course, Avalon! The prologue sets the scene perfectly, giving us a glimpse into Oberon’s past, and Kieran’s intro had me hyped for what was to come!
Let’s just say Oberon and Sin are NOT best buds at the start of the book. But who knew forced togetherness could be so… delicious? (Don’t worry; I’m not spoiling anything, but it’s a bumpy ride!).
Their banter had me cracking up often, while Nog’s antics left me facepalming all the time.
All the characters, major and minor, felt real and engaging – loved that!
The pacing was spot-on, with action sprinkled throughout to keep the story (and adrenaline) pumping.
I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book, and overall, it’s another fantastic addition to this amazing series! I devoured it in one sitting—I just couldn’t put it down! I can’t wait for the next one!
