Once upon a time, I killed a god and stole his power. I’ve been paying for it ever since.
After my banishment, I promised myself three things. I would never take a mate. I would find a way to get rid of the power I stole. I would punish the gods who banished me. Not necessarily in that order.
There’s just one teeny, tiny little problem.
That power I hate? It’s a siren call to the ones who banished me, letting them know I’ve broken out of their prison. And that mate I don’t want? Well, he found me first, and he has no intention of letting me go anytime soon–even with his life on the line.
Trusting him breaks every one of my rules, but it might be the only way to save us both.
I’m so happy we got to read Styx’s story, and it did NOT disappoint! We’ve been waiting for this since we met her in the first book (be sure to check out Mate Me by Kel Carpenter and Aurelia Jane if you haven’t already!). And guess what? Her mate is Corvin from the previous series—I love how these series interconnect!
Every book in this series feels fresh and follows events perfectly throughout, even with different authors. This one was lighter on action but heavy on character development. It’s all about that moment you finally open yourself up to love.
Of course, with Styx involved, there’s always some snark and lightning ⚡️, but it’s balanced with heartwarming moments too.
We mostly stay in the Crossroads this time, with just a few quick trips to Tartarus. Still, there are tons of new faces I can’t wait to see more of!
I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book, and all I really can say is: read alllll the books; you won’t be disappointed!
Next up is Legion – buckle up, it’s going to be wild!
