Review

3.5stars rating
INTRO:

Of course, I was more than happy to start reading this book… it has dragons, DRAGONS! I mean… say no more 😉 I’d give this one a 3.5*

Worldbuilding:

Was good, bit by bit the author introduces us to the world, as such neither confusing nor overwhelming the reader with all the info. All scenes and environments were clear and well detailed.

Character development:

Was decent. We only got to know Alba and Fyrian really. The other characters got introduced and we know a tad about them, but fairly superficial. Alba has the makings of a good heroine, she has a decent head on her shoulders at least 😀 We know a bit of her hopes and dreams and some of her fears. Really hope though that we get to know everyone on a deeper level in the next instalment, to make them seem more real and believable and not just passing figurants.

Pacing & Flow:

Were good, the author kept a good balance between all the action and conversation. I wasn’t bored or overwhelmed at any point, really nice pacing actually. I did read the book in one sitting, so yeah, there is that 😀

The book itself:

The book itself was well written with no (noticeable) errors. It’s a clean teen/YA fantasy.

Final Thoughts:

All in all, it was a nice and enjoyable read, I did expect a bit more of it in terms of character depth, but I’m sure that will come with the next instalment.
