I had a plan, then fate laughed in my face.

Three years ago, I was banished from my home for protecting my family. I’ve had to learn to survive on my own, while also heeding my mother’s warnings.
“Never let anyone know who you truly are.”
Which proves almost too easy for me to do until my fated mate stumbles out of a newly opened portal.
Drake Cage is a wolf shifter from the shadow world. Not only is he cursed, but he comes with problems I don’t need in my life.
I try to reject him, but he’s determined to show me he’s worthy. With each word he speaks and every action he takes, I’m finding him harder to resist.
Until one call threatens everything I’ve been fighting for.
My mate’s vengeance soon becomes my own and, if I’m not careful, neither me nor my heart will ever be the same again.

This installment was a bit of a hit-and-miss for me! I just couldn’t connect with Spencer at all 🙁 Maybe it was her personality – at moments, she just felt too self-centered for my taste. I liked Drake much more, but I would’ve loved to delve deeper into his past before Kel arrived at the scene. On the bright side, seeing familiar faces again was a delight!
This book offered a different pace than the previous ones, focusing more on personal growth and navigating challenges together.
I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book, and overall, even though I didn’t connect with Spencer, it was a quick and easy read and a good addition to the series!
