He wasn’t supposed to fall in love.

Weston has made a mess of things. Since he realized the woman he was supposed to find and bring to justice was his true mate, things have spiraled out of control. He’s gone from one bad decision to the next, and now the situation threatens to topple down around him.

The good news is, Aurelia isn’t responsible for hurting people. She isn’t the one who should stand in front of the dragons and plead for her life.

If only the dragons and their kingdom agreed.

Weston must try to relay the truth and protect his true mate, all while she struggles to work through her past, his deceit, and her new life in opposition to the one woman she’d thought of as her mother.

Aurelia must go to war, and Weston will do everything he can to ensure she comes out alive.

Review

5stars rating

We start right where we finished in the previous book, and that little doozy the author left us with (so mean!), off to the dragon lands and for Aurelia to face judgment.

I’m not going into a lengthy review, for that, read the one I wrote for book 1 of this duet.

This book is different from the first one. There’s still action, but it focuses more on character development and redemption. Aurelia and Weston are both trying to make amends. Our lovely Hadriel is joined by Vemar, the dragon to his wolf, and those two are the best! I want friends like those to stand by me. I hope they get their own stories in this series.

I haven’t read the other books in the series, so I don’t know Finley’s story. You don’t need to read them to understand this duet, but you’ll get more out of it if you do. Will I read the previous books? YES! I need to read everything! (but again, fingers crossed for more books with these lovely characters).

In the end… there is only one thing I can say: This book has everything – action, romance, drama, and a perfect ending. I need more!
