Welcome

Hellow and welcome to my reading room, aka my book blog (in case you were still wondering).
Here you will be able to find: what I’m currently reading, my latest reviews (and the link to my review archive), new books in my ever-growing TBR-list (I’m sure we all have that problem) and some info about yours truly.

But first things first. If you’ve found your way here, that usually means you’re either a family member or a friend curious about what the hell I’m up to now, or you’re a reader in need of some advice.

If you belong to the first category: haaaaai!! Wander around and let me know what you think!
If you belong to the second category, well… *gets all giddy and excited* that’s what I’m here for!

I write reviews hoping to help those on the lookout for their next good book or those still on the fence to make a decision, be it yay (buying) or nay (moving on to another book). So I hope you will find what you are looking for within these reviews!

If you have any questions or comments, feel free to send me an email. Love to hear from you!

Happy reading!

What to expect from my reviews

Some things I would like to address before we go any further (that actually sounds pretty severe, lol):

  • The genre’s you’ll find reviews for are:
    • Fantasy
    • Urban Fantasy
    • the occasional Sci-Fi
    • Paranormal Romance
    • Reverse Harem

  • I write my reviews as spoiler-free as possible since I hate it when you just want to check something and BAM… now you know how the book ends, who dies etc… *sniff*.
  • I take pride in writing honest reviews for all the books I read, and I make absolutely no distinction between books from my tbr-list or ARC’s (advanced readers copy) that I’ve received.
If I think a book is terrible, I will give you my candid opinion. I mean, that is pretty much the whole reason people are reading (and writing) reviews, isn’t it? 😉

Taming Demons for Beginners (reread)
The Guild Codex: Demonized #1
by Annette Marie

Rule one: Don’t look at the demon.

When I arrived at my uncle’s house, I expected my relatives to be like me—outcast sorcerers who don’t practice magic. I was right about the sorcery, but wrong about everything else.

Rule two: Don’t listen to the demon.

My uncle chose a far deadlier power. He calls creatures of darkness into our world, binds them into service contracts, and sells them to the highest bidder. And I’m supposed to act like I don’t know how illegal and dangerous it is.

Rule three: Don’t talk to the demon.

All I had to do was keep my nose out of it. Pretend I didn’t find the summoning circle in the basement. Pretend I didn’t notice the shadowy being trapped inside it. Pretend I didn’t break the rules.

But I did, and now it’s too late.

About Me

My name is Victoria, I’m… 41 (yes, I needed to check, sorry!!), and I live in Munsterbilzen with my two feline overlords, Isis and Osiris.

I work in IT, and apart from that, I’m an avid reader (who would have thought?!). Once in a while, I like to indulge myself and play some video games as well (as you can see, my lovely undead warlock is all zen in Dalaran).

My reading plan for 2025 is pretty simple: I’ve noticed that several of my favorite series have new books that I haven’t read yet, so besides the ARC’s I’ll be reading (yay!!), I have decided to reread everything and end with said new additions.
Let’s see how long I can keep up with my plan 😉

A few of those series are:

If you want to contact me concerning ARC’s, please email me! I’m always up to reading something new and exciting, except during November, as I’m writing all month then myself 😉

Love hearing from you!
