Hellow and welcome to my reading room, aka my book blog (in case you were still wondering).
Here you will be able to find: what I’m currently reading, my latest reviews (and the link to my review archive), new books in my ever-growing TBR-list (I’m sure we all have that problem) and some info about yours truly.

But first things first. If you’ve found your way here, that usually means you’re either a family member or a friend curious about what the hell I’m up to now, or you’re a reader in need of some advice.

If you belong to the first category: haaaaai!! Wander around and let me know what you think!
If you belong to the second category, well… *gets all giddy and excited* that’s what I’m here for!

I write reviews hoping to help those on the lookout for their next good book or those still on the fence to make a decision, be it yay (buying) or nay (moving on to another book). So I hope you will find what you are looking for within these reviews!

If you have any questions or comments, hit me up on social media or mail via the buttons down at the bottom of the page. Love to hear from you!

Happy reading!

What to expect from my reviews

Some things I would like to address before we go any further (that actually sounds pretty severe, lol):

  • The genre’s you’ll find reviews for are:
    • Fantasy
    • Urban Fantasy
    • the occasional Sci-Fi
    • Paranormal Romance
    • Reverse Harem

  • I write my reviews as spoiler-free as possible since I hate it when you just want to check something and BAM… now you know how the book ends, who dies etc… *sniff*.
  • I take pride in writing honest reviews for all the books I read, and I make absolutely no distinction between books from my tbr-list or ARC’s (advanced readers copy) that I’ve received.
If I think a book is terrible, I will give you my candid opinion. I mean, that is pretty much the whole reason people are reading (and writing) reviews, isn’t it? 😉

The King's Captive (Gates of Myth and Power 1)
K.M. Shea

I can turn into a housecat.

It’s a fun magic, except in a world filled with vampires and werewolves, it doesn’t exactly make me a powerhouse. Instead, the supernatural community has classified me as an outcast, which means one thing: Picking on me is open season all day, every day.

The local fae are the worst of all, and it’s during one of their regular “capture the cat-girl” sessions that I shift into my cat form and meet HIM for the first time.

Noctus is so powerful his magic radiates off him like a sun, and my fae captors can barely look in his general direction. And then my life gets even more terrifying when Noctus decides to take me with him. As a pet.

Why did he pick today to “adopt don’t shop” a cat?

It gets worse when I realize he’s an elf, a ruling race of supernaturals that was supposedly killed off centuries ago.

But he’s not just any elf, no. He’s an elven king, with heaps of secrets to protect. Secrets that I am quickly learning since he includes his new pet in everything from breaking into buildings to inspect classified paperwork to tracking down sketchy supernaturals.

All this means if he gets even a hint that I’m not a real cat, I’m going to find out firsthand how elves treat their prisoners.

So, escaping Noctus is priority #1. How hard can it be? (Answer: very.)

About Me

My name is Victoria, I’m… 40 (yes, I needed to check, sorry!!), and I live in Munsterbilzen with my two cats, Isis and Osiris.

I work as a project manager and have my own web design and practice on the side.
Apart from that, I’m an avid reader (who would have thought?!), and once in a while, I like to indulge myself and play some video games as well (as you can see my lovely undead warlock being all zen in Dalaran).

My reading plan for 2024 is pretty simple: I’ve noticed that several of my favorite series have new books that I haven’t read yet, so besides the ARC’s I’ll be reading (yay!!), I have decided to reread everything and end with said new additions.
Let’s see how long I can keep up with my plan 😉

A few of those series are:

If you want to contact me concerning ARC’s, please mail me! I’m always up to reading something new and exciting, except during November, as I’m writing all month then myself 😉

If you want to contact me for anything else, please reach out to me through social media.

Love hearing from you!
